The Parks, Recreation, and Cemeteries Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for all Easthampton residents by striving to provide clean and safe park facilities and the best recreational programming for everyone within our community.

We are a service based department and work interactively with local and regional groups and associations to assist in both active and passive recreational activities and programs for individuals, groups, and organized sports teams.

Katherine Root Wayside Park

Located at the corner of Route 10 and Florence Road, the Katherine Root Wayside Park is dedicated to passive recreation. It's a nice area with 3 picnic tables and grills to enjoy a picnic. It also provides a spigot attached to the town water supply for passersby.

Lower Mill Pond Park

Located near the corner of Pleasant and Ferry Streets, Lower Mill Pond Park is an outdoor recreation area with six fitness stations aound the Great Lawn and brightly painted basketball courts. The city of Easthampton will soon be adding a pavilion/amphitheater at the base of the Great Lawn, and construct a small restroom facility. An adjoining four-acre parcel will be used for shoreline trails and a picnic area along the Manhan Rail Trail. There is an information display board with maps and other trail-related information here also.

Parsons Street Park

Parsons Street Park is a neighborhood park with a toddlers playground with baby swings and park benches. It's located at the corner of Parsons and Exeter Streets.

Plain and Strong Street Playground

Plain and Strong Street Playground consists several playground structures and swings.

Pleasant Street Park

Pleasant Street Park is located on Pleasant Street and Pleasant Green, it is a children's neighborhood playground. The equipment at the park includes a play structure and benches as well.

Pulaski Park

Pulaski Park is a passive recreation area located in the center of Easthampton, at the rotary where Northampton Street, Main Street, and Pleasant Street merge. The park hosts many activities in its Gazebo: the Summer Arts in the Parks Concert Series held May through September, pumpkin carving in October, beautiful holiday lighting in December graces the park, and many wedding ceremonies are also held within the Gazebo throughout the year.

Pulaski Park contains the Kasimer Pulaski Monument, dedicated to the Polish war general, and a monument depicting the first town meeting house in Easthampton, as well as the Mayher Drinking Fountain. Benches grace the park, too.

Tree Warden

The City Tree Warden, George Melega, is an employee of our department and is available to assist citizens regarding questions concerning trees within Easthampton.
Pruning, removal, and legal issues may be addressed by contacting him during weekday business hours.

Winter Programs

Open Basketball for Adults:

Sundays early November through mid March at White Brook Middle School (200 Park Street) from 10 AM to 12:30 PM. & Wednesdays early November through mid March at Pepin School (4 Park Street) from 6 – 9 PM $5 per session.

Indoor Public Ice Skating

Sunday’s mid November through early March at Williston-Northampton School’s Lossone Rink (Greenwood Court) 3-5 PM. Adults $5, Children $3. Must bring own skates.

Rag Shag Parade

In late October, there is a costume parade for children and adults that march safely through the streets of Easthampton to the Williston Quadrangle where candy is given out to children at the end of the march. 5:45 PM start from Maple School (7 Chapel Street) to the Williston-Northampton Quadrangle (Park Street).

Easthampton Basketball Association

First grade to 12th grade students from November to March.

Winter Swimming Lessons

Winter Lessons are taught at The Williston Northampton School's Pool (Williston Athletic Center Park Street) registration @ Park & Rec. Office 1 Daley Field Road for Easthampton children 5 years & up $60 per child - 6 classes in series taught by certified professionals
